Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone has seen this problem yet. I have searched and googles but noting found yet.
I was setting up Fedora core 2, I was mounting 2 ntfs partitions and setting up my fstab. well all went well so I thought. When I log out and back in all my desktop icons have the little read only symbol on them. (the little pencil in a ban sign)
no matter what I try o can't get rid of this. Has anyone seen this before? If so just point me in the right direction please. I tried a couple things, I even deleted the user and re added but still there.

I would be really greatful for any assistance

Open a terminal window...su...then type ur root password....and then type in konqueror....go to /home....right click on ur home folder...go to the permissions tab and at the bottom u will see apply changes to subfolders and all files...or something like that click that make sure your name is under owner and then click ok, that should fix it

OK, I tried this when I got home and no good. Permissions all set right.
I created a new user and it did not have this problem, so I backed up files and deleted user jason (thats the one with the problems.) Then created new user jason and still had same probs.
Next I deleted user and deleted all temp files. Created new user jason and all is well.

I don'rt know what I did but it's fixed now. I was messing with fstab setting but I don't see how that caused the problem.
