Random quotes on login, like Slackware

is there a way to enable (or make possible) random quotes to appear on login, like in Slackware?

I used to be on Slackware 9.1 but I found setting up the internet connection and the dns and finding IP address everytime (dhcp) too confusing and came here and posted heaps of questions (old username), lots of reading up, and still wasn't able to get it.. I had to reboot into windows everytime I changed something.. argh.. anyway, I found fedora core 1 and am happy now.. however I miss the funny and sometimes philosophical quotes that made the think... on login.. hmm

You just need to install the fortune program:

Then place a "fortune" command in one of your shell login scripts.
