Random FREEZE. I'm going mad please help.

Hi,
I'm going mad, please help.

I'm experiencing random freeze on my pc and I need to power off it.
There is no way to reproduce the problem, is really random.

Some info about my system:
Fedora 8 x86_64 running a 2.6.23 vanilla kernel
nvidia driver 169.07
latest intel prowireless 3945 drivers
compiz fusion

How can I see where is the problem? I'm going mad

Unhappy

Wish I could help you but I've had the same experience since Fedora Core 2.
My system is similar to yours, AMD 64 bit running 2.6.23.9-85.fc8 with Nvidia.
I've never gotten a solution and have learned to live with it. Sometimes I can got for weeks without a freeze then it will happen multiple times in a row.
Does it freeze during boot or only when up and running? I experience both symptoms.
Sorry I'm of no help but at least now I know I'm not the only one.

I've had similar problems when i first started using FC7. The problems were im sure to do with ACPI, or the SATA interface on my motherboard that wasnt supported.

In BIOS:

Make sure all SATA interfaces identify themselves as IDE.
Switch on any memory compatibility options.
Switch off Cool and Quiet.

Now I have completely removed MMCONFIG from my kernel.
Hope that it helps.
