Quicktime sound mplayer RESOLVED!

Hello everyone. I have a question about mplayer and quicktime movies. I can play a quicktime movie using mplayer and the movie plays just fine, but without any sound.

It says that it "Cannot find codec for audio format 0x324D4451"

All other formats seem to work. I installed it using the DAG apt repo.

Thanks in advance for all the help!

Go to and download the quicktime codecs. Untar/bzip them into your codecs folder (may be ~/.mplayer/codecs or /usr/lib/codecs).

Right direction

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. The folder that the codecs need to be in is
and that fixes Fedora Core 2 right up! Now my sound is working!

Thanx again!
