Putting FC5 on a DVD
Hello, I am new to making DVD's. I need to know how to put FC5 on a dvd to install on a laptop or anything actually. I have done it once with my windows machine but the DVD didnt boot. Um I am getting Alcohol 120% I did use nero before but thats crap so I uninstalled it. Anyway I think this gives off a relative idea, let me know if you know what wrong.

Could you give some more info on what you did and how it went wrong.
It's really very easy, you just have to burn it as an image (it's just the same as with CD).

Ok, well I just wrote the files on to the DVD, I extracted them from the ISO because it never works if I write it as an ISO. Um, I just wrote it as a data DVD I didnt really do anything other than that. I did it once with fedora core 4 but that was on a CD, and it hasnt worked since. I have an idea and i'm going to try it right now, let me know if i'm doing something wrong. Thank you.

Download the ISO file. Open with your burning software and then just follow the steps to burn it on the DVD. Usually will be 1-2 clicks. Then reboot your PC with the DVD in the driver but BE SURE that you have set on the BIOS to boot from CD/DVD-ROM. I hope that helps.

i think its a problem with the fc5 image for dvd.. i have tried about 5 or 6 times and made coasters.. i also used Alcohol 120% and nero.. no luck.. so looks like i am in the same boat.. lol.. (as a side note.. Alcohol 120% works on every image but this one for some reason.. so i don't think its Alcohol 120%.. i could be wrong.. but.....)

a data DVD won't have the boot information require to get it going. I've actually had nothing but luck with bootable ISO's. using nero, magicISO and UltraISO.
