Proxy and Mail Server
Hello,
Distro : Fedora Core 1
I have originally posted this at networking forum but I may receive help from people on this forum. thanks in advance.
I want to set up a proxy and mail server. As suggested , the proxy shall be Squid.
My box is running under 64MB Ram and is behind a dial-up modem connection. Both Squid and Mail Server (Postfix? ) should work hand in hand with the dial-up connection.
I want to be able to automate the dial-up when an internet connection is needed below are some additional things for the servers :
Proxy (Squid) :
Authenticate user name and password.
If validation is ok then establish internet connection (dial-up) if connection is not available; otherwise, use active connection.
Mail Server (Postfix? ):
Pop3 : fetch mail every 2 hours , auto-dial if connection is inactive.
SMTP : if 5 mails max to deliver in queue or mail is present for 7 minutes , auto-dial if connection is inactive.
For 5 minutes of inactivity the dial-up connection will disconnect automatically.
I need help, ASAP.
