Programs Starting automatically on login?

Hi! I have been having a problem where programs such as XMMS and the terminal just automatically launch when I log into my KDE desktop environment. Is there any way to stop these programs from just poping up. I get serveral instances of XMMS player, like 2 or 3 of them just launch automatically.
