Problems with mrproject

I'm using Fedora 1. I installed mrproject from the CD. I can open mrproject, edit a new project file, and click save. I type in a name like "test" and save it to my desktop. I then close mrproject. The file is saved to the desktop as "test.mrproject". When I try to open the file from within mrproject, I get an error that says:

Couldn't find a suitable file module for loading '/home/jon/Desktop/test.mrproject'

If I try to click on the file, it opens in Nautilus. If I right click, it offers mrproject as an option, but upon selecting it, I get the same error as above.

I've tried editing the ".mrproject" file type but it's not changed anything.

Any suggestions? I've been to the mrproject site and it appears to have not been updated since Feb of 2003 and I've seen on this board (and others) information that makes me wonder if it is even being maintained.

Hope this helps ..

I haven't tried it under KDE. If it works there, it will give me some clues I guess. I like Gnome though, so I wouldn't switch to KDE. I actually used it for 2 years and only switched to Gnome 6 months ago, but I really prefer it.

Wonder why it would work under KDE and not Gnome? Maybe that does point to the mime setup? I dunno.....

I tried running under KDE, but received the error when I tried to open the file: Couldn't find a suitable file module for loading...What is frustrating to me is when I originally loaded Fedora mrproject worked fine, but I had to re-load Fedora and since then it doesn't work. If anyone knows how to get around this I would greatly appreciate it.

thanks,
Jeff

Here's an update. It's now called planner and you can download the rpm at http://dag.wieers.com/packages/planner/. It successfully opens files I've saved. Don't know why Fedora didn't ship with the most current version, but it's out there and it works.

Thanks for the link.
