Problems for my Intel 82865G onboard display or monitor

Hey all,
I just managed to install Fedora 12 and i see the System>Preferences>Display shows unknown monitor. I tried system-config-display and chose my Samsung Samtron 56V CRT monitor and selected a resolution 1024x768 which is what i desire. Currently it is at 800x600. I chose 1024x768 and then logged out to restart Xserver and then logged back in but the res still remains at 800x600 and the System>Preferences>Display still shows unknown monitor. It doesn't detect it. I tried system-config-display again and chose Generic CRT this time but with no success. The res is still at 800x600 no matter what device and res i choose in system-config-display. I know i can get 1024x768 as i had Redhat earlier which used to diplay at that res. Anybody know how to fix this? thanks!
