problem with yahoo messenegr

i downloaded the rpm package for the yahoo messeneger from the yahoo site.i installed it.
it got successfully installed.i then removed it and reinstalled it.now whenever i try to run t it shows the error message segmentation error ..please suggest and help me out with it

oh, and by the way, i've been hearing problems with yahoo messenger all over the place. personally, i think the best solution is to just use gaim

thanx sether about the advice of using gaim...

i have been trying to connect using gaim but the only problem i guess is that yahoo doesnot connect from gaim

i've been able to use yahoo through gaim before. maybe something isn't setup correctly. are you trying to connect through a proxy server? if you have kde, you can also try kopete as an instant messaging program.

gaim works here without any trouble with icq, msn and yahoo accounts.
run gaim and go accounts menu. create an account
choose "protocol" as yahoo.
type your yahoo id as "screen name"
save it. thats all.

i use v0.82-0FC2 (last update from fedora)
