Problem with power saving mode
Hi Everyone,
I am new to linux switching from windows XP. I am using the latest version of Fedora from their site alongwith the updates.
I have a questions.
1. When i switch on to linux the PC makes i lot of noise. I think the fan over cpu is continously running and the cpu doesn't go to the power saving mode. Also i have set to switch off the monitor after 5 mins, but it does not turn off. By googling i found that in /etc/cpuspeed.conf, i have to insert the line DRIVERS="p4_clockmod".But this did not help. In XP power saving mode is working fine. I would like to enable the power saving mode otherwise i am afraid the cpu will burn out.
Can anyone suggest how i can overcome these problems.
Thanks
sibnath
