Unhappy Problem with frame targets in Firefox under FC3

I am experiencing a strange problem with simple frames in Firefox. For some reason, it doesn't seem to recognise the target frame when accessing links, and just loads them in the frame that the link was clicked in. For example, see the System Shock 2 Rebirth homepage. The menu on the left is implemented by means of a frame, but clicking the links causes the target page to open in the menu frame rather than the content frame.

I've tried searching this forum, Bugzilla, and Google, to see if this problem is known, but have had no luck. Currently I am using Firefox 1.0.7 installed via either synaptic or up2date, I forget which, but I think the problem also occurred in previous versions. The sample page posted above works perfectly OK in Firefox under Windows and even Knoppix 3.9 (and of course in other browsers, although I haven't tried Mozilla).

It's not a big problem, but I am finding it more than a little confusing! If anyone could shed any light on it, I'd be grateful.

Sounds like something that could be fixed possibly with the about:config page. I just looked through the variables and don't see anything, but that doesn't guarantee its not there. I know you've got the latest version, but have you tried updating/downloading firefox again?

Hey, sorry it's taken me so long to reply, pretty sure I ticked the box to be emailed when someone replied, but received no email so I'd assumed no-one had answered!

I looked at about:config but couldn't see anything obviously frame related. I tried uninstalling and re-installing firefox using yum, but the same problem remains. Whatever it is seems to be in my user settings, which presumably persist during the uninstall/reinstall. I'll try creating a new user account and test it with that, then report back. Thanks for the suggestions!

EDIT: OK, having now tested firefox with a temporary user account, I can confirm that the problem is only occurring on my account, which suggests it's somewhere in my user settings. Any ideas about where I ought to try looking? TIA...
