Preview of sound
Has anyone got the preview function in fedora to work with mp3-files.
I have fixed mp3 in XMMS, if that matters? ;-) It works fine with wav-files. The little symbol shows up indicating that the sound previews, but there is no sound. Maybe it's because 'play' doesn't support mp3? // Joakim |
I've never tried to, but I would think that the first thing you need to do is to download the mpg123 player. You may have to change some settings even after you install that.

I have tried mpg123 and mpg321, but neither of them plays mpg's. Think it has to do with licensing problems. But which of them got to work to get the previw-stuff to work?

I have it working in FC1. All I did was install mpg23 (I think I did that a few months ago). Then I turned on the preview settings in my preferences. Here's the link to mp123. After you install it you may have to restart nautilus.... Maybe even restart Xwindows.... Here's the link:

Downloaded, compiled and installed. Now it works perfect! Thanks!
