poweroff problem in FC7

Hi

I have an x86_64 box running FC7 (64 bit) and am pretty sure I've got ACPI enabled correctly in BIOS. /etc/.kde/kdm/kdmrc shows Halt=/sbin/poweroff, but when I select "Turn off computer" from the KDE logout menu, it halts but does not power off.

I'm almost 100% certain this is not a hardware problem since I just upgraded from FC6 where the power off function was working perfectly.

Anyone have any suggestions?

TIA,

DS

Actuall /sbin/poweroff

So it seems that even running /sbin/poweroff directly does not shut the machine off (even /sbin/poweroff -p redundantly). It has ACPI enabled, with APIC 2.0 support. Either of these turned off causes a fatal interrupt conflict with the SCSI drive.

This is pernicious since this utility seemed to work fine in FC6.
