Please Help me ASAP


hi there fedora core 4 user,

i i'm noob in fedora core 4, i just ask how to remove startup in my fedora box.

i think i enter wrong startup option.

this one i used at statup. i want to automatic start my mysql so i try to enter in my cp i use this command. /usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqld_safe.

after i reboot my box hang after loading mysql. and i cant login in my box.

after loading mysql, my box back to black sreen and says Enabling swap space:

and stop there.

please help me.

ps. sorry for my bad english.

sorry for double post.

i need it badly.

i mean how do i remove from my startup/services the mysql command i enter...

how can i delete one of my fedora box services using rescue?

if you are using grub as a bootloader, press e to enter edit mode during startup. Place the word single after the boot parameters (longest line), press enter to save, then press b to boot. This will bring you into single user mode. You can remove the mysqld service off of startup by issuing the command
/sbin/chkconfig mysqld off
or just to stop it temporarily,
/sbin/service mysqld stop
Then type exit to continue booting. Let me know if you need more help.

i already done this using the rescue cd. chroot /sys/image then setup.

now my new problem is the grub. when i try to boot my fedora core 4, it says grub> like a command promt, how do i fix this?

when i try to use the native install

root (hd0,0)
filesystem type is extfs, partition type 0x83
find /boot/grub/stage1
Error 15: file not found.

and when i try to install-grub

install-grub /dev/hda
/dev/hda: not found or not a block devices.

please help me.

hi sorry incorrect command

:EDIT "grub-install /dev/hda"

cant fix this problem anyone try to help?

my FC4 information
fdisk -l

/dev/hdc1
/dev/hdc2

when im trying to install my grub it says VOL00 does not have any correspondent BIOS update

my command:

grub-install /dev/hdc1
VOL00 does not have any correspondent
grub-install /dev/hdc2 V
OL00 does not have any correspondent

the same error

what i need to configure?
and how can i install grub?
please help me...
