PHP and Cyrus IMAP

hi guys!

i got fc3 and cyrus imapd. how can i write php scripts that use imap_* functions using this imap daemon? i installed php-imap package for fedora, cause it was not installed by default. i got my imapd running, port 143 open, but can't access my server using imap_open("{localhost:143}INBOX","test","111"). but it says the stream could not be opened.
i've added "test" user to the system. should i manually add it to cyrus somewhere, or it has already added it to cyrus after adding it to system ?? thanks a lot.

alex.
