patch-o-matic-ng and iptables1.4.0 on fedora 8 using 2.6.24

seems like anything I try or any version I use of the linux kernel or patchomatic I use, I just can't seem to be able to compile my kernel using the patchomatic? is anyone having this problem?

I am trying to use the newest kernel from kernel.org and the latest snapshot of patchomatic.

I have tried different versions of kernel software and patchomatic (using as old as 2.6.18 and a 2004 version of patchomatic)

the only thing I can think of is perhaps fedora is hiding stuff away? the only things I really need from patchomatic are the ROUTE and TARPIT rules, everything else I can live without...

any clues?
