Partition


Hello All,

I need help regarding partition my drive in NTFS format. I am new to fedora and so dont know from where or how to do that.

Operating system currently using - Fedora.
So, if anyone can tell me how to partition my drive in NTFS format as i want to install dual OS.
or any way installing other OS.

You can use Gparted to create a NTFS partition (it requires ntfsprogs installed). If you use Gparted LiveCD be sure to download the latest version, since older versions may lack the ability to crate NTFS partitions.

Thank you Colucix for the help.

I think my drive is in LVM format. So, it will be possible to create it into NTFS format using Gparted and ntfsprogs.

Well... LVM is not a filesystem, is a Logical Volume, a method of allocating space on storage devices. Maybe you have more disks/partitions joined in a single Volume. In that case you have first to unmount the volume, remove it and then re-format the disk/partition using gparted (I assume you already know that this will destroy any data on the LVM).

Just out of curiosity, which is the output from fdisk -l and df -k and pvscan? These will tell you about the real and the logical volumes existing on your machine.
