Open multiple files in Vim using Nautilus
I may be mistaken, but I recall being able to open multiple files in the same GVim window when right-click selecting files in Nautilus. I thought I could do this in FC6 (Gnome 2.16). However in F7 (Gnome 2.18) whenever I do that I get multiple Gvim windows.
Anyone know how to change this behavior? I know that vim-X11 is no longer part of the standard install, is there some missing integration peice? (I installed via yum) |
In FC6, Nautilus opens multiple gvim windows (just verified). Vim-x11 was not part of the standard install in previous Fedora releases (including FC6); I always have to select it during installation or afterwards via yum.

Well thanks for verifying. To clarify, what I meant was that vim-X11 was included on the FC6 media (it isn't on the F7 media).
Question still remains if anyone knows how to get this to work. As an aside, I use gvim in windows and it gives an option "Open with Single Gvim" or something similar. |
FC7 has three different media; the LiveCD, the Installation DVD, and the Everything set. The vim-X11 rpm is part of the Everything set, so it need to be added post installation.
You can create a script for Nautilus that will do what you want. See this thread. |
