NVidia settings not applied
Gentlemen:
I have a computer with Fedora Core 6 updated and the latest nVidia kmod. My problem is, my monitor is VERY dark, even at max brightness and contrast. In Windows, I just had to use the nVidia Control Panel and increase manually the contrast, brightness and gamma of the card to get an acceptable picture. I can do the same in Fedora with the nVidia Display Settings applet and it works. The thing is, after saving the changes, if I reboot the machine, the screen looks dark again and I can barely see anything; I log in and open the nVidia Display Settings applet and THEN the applet applies the changes in brightness, etc. How can I configure the X server or whatever is needed in order to apply the settings automatically instead? Thanks in advance. Sherman P.D.: Another thing: How can I apply the same settings to the Fedora Graphical boot screen? P.D. 2: My computer specs: - AMD Sempron 2600+ - 1 GB RAM - 2 HD, 40 & 200 GB, both IDE - 1 DVD reader - 1 DVD burner - nVidia GeForce 6200 AGP |
doesn't your monitor have buttons on the front that change those settings (brightness, contrast, color, zoom, horizontal & Vertical)?

Even with those settings, the monitor is DARK (like in almost black). I know the solution is to buy a new monitor, but I'd like to have this as a temporary solution).

Does your monitor (by chance) by any acpi settings --- maybe try booting with noacpi nolacpi, I know it is more so for laptops, but eh worth a try |
