nvidia driver?


how do i install nvidia driver for all the kernels in FC3?

everytime if there is a kernel update and when i boot into the new kernel it gives me xserver error so i got to install nvidia driver to correct this problem. anyway to avoid this issues?

Not really, just keep the nvidia installer around and use it every time you patch your kernel,
it doesn't really take that long.
But remember it needs the sources for the new kernel around.

On FC3 it seems to install fine without the kernel source.

I would have thought there would be an Exclude list, like in urpmi.

But I haven't found a trace of one yet. Up2Date? Can't find it here either

go here and follow the instructions. i had no problem installing this driver on my FC3 box. i think FC3 includes the kernel-headers (this is what it needs, not the kernel-source, i think). i have also heard of people who have this driver installed and then updated the kernel and did not have to reinstall the nvidia driver. i have not done this on my box so i cannot say for sure, but will be soon
