NVIDIA Diplay Device -> change CRT to TFT

In the Gnome menu under System Tools I found NVIDIA Display Settings. According to the info in the app I have a CRT monitor, but I actually I have a TFT screen, defined under 'System Settings-->Display'.

Is there any way to change to the correct setting in the NVIDIA Display Settings?
Will it make a difference?

Try reconfiguring your x server using system-config-display.

which is the GUI way of getting to system-config-display. I checked and it is configured a a generic LCD screen.
