Not sure what happened
Never had this problem before but when I place a cdrom into my drive. The cdrom does not mount. (The cdrom icon use to appear on my desktop) Tried mounting the drive from command line and it will not mount. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

I would assume that something is wrong with the automounter. It would help to know what distro you are using. A great program would be KwikDisk, a kde tool that mounts disks in your /etc/fstab.

Did something get lost in my /etc/fstab config?
/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol00 / ext3 defaults 1 1
LABEL=/boot /boot ext3 defaults 1 2
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
/dev/VolGroup00/LogVol01 swap swap defaults 0 0
HOW CAN I FIX THIS???

This is what's in my FC4 fstab re CD and floppy
/dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto pamconsole,exec,noauto,utf8,managed 0 0
/dev/hdc /media/cdrecorder auto pamconsole,exec,noauto,managed 0 0
But you don't have a swap entry either. What distro are you using???? FC5 does things a bit differently but I think fstab still has a swap entry.

Well it's kind of fixed now. I can actually access my cdrom drive now but it will not automount.
So, How can I specify that a device will automount.

Not sure with FC5 but with FC4 in preferences I have "removable drives & media" entry that brings up some check boxes, auto mount amoung them.
