No longer have hostname after upgrading to Core 3... can't send mail

I seem to no longer have a hostname after upgrading to Fedora Core 3, only an IP address. This prevents me from sending mail as SMTP servers usually won't accept mail from just an IP address. I'm using cox and have it going through a wireless router, but I'm not using the wireless through linux - just have an ethernet cable coming from the wireless router for that. Don''t seem to have the same problem in windows, only linux has a problem getting a hostname.

I have no idea where to look or what settings to change.

Thanks for any help

Problem is I have no idea what to set it to. I checked the man page for hostname and ran all the commands at the top, but all either gave me localdomain or none. The hostname I was getting from cox was something like ip-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx.ph.cox.net, but it was being set automatically. Maybe I'm missing something here?
