No commands can be used.


I changed the inittab file to
id:3:initdefault


then after restarted system i cannot use some commands such like:

fdisk -l

Does the user ID you logged in with have permissions to run that command ??

What error message do you get ?

And if you run with the full path prefixed like "/sbin/fdisk -l"?

the error like:

-bash. fdisk: command not found.

also if i change back to 5

i still cannot use chmod, error:

-bash chmod: command not found

Are you logged-in as root or your normal user?

Does this problem happen if you specify the full path ie. /sbin/fdisk

If that works then check your PATH ... echo $PATH
