New Xorg broke my nvidia drivers?

This AM I did a yum update and had all new X11 server stuff. After the install, and restart, X11 crashed, hard. I reverted to the "nv" driver, and got going again. I do have the latest nvidia drivers. Is this just me, or are we all crashing? TIA, Ray

Try reinstalling the nvidia drivers. If that still doesn't work then run xorgconfig. It will disable the nvidia drivers but will get you back on your feet until you figure out what's really wrong.

TThanks, I'll do the re-install. Actually, as above, I am on my feet, but only by implementing the standard "nv" driver.

OK, here's the latest. I did a --force-upgrade which rebuilt the drivers on the box. Fixed xorg.conf to use the "nvidia" driver, and crashed again, THEN, upon further investigation, I find that the driver is NOT in the list from lsmod. Did a insmod, which worked, and THEN, I got my acceslerated drivers back all OK. Now, I gotta wonder why that doesn't happen without manual intervention. It always has before.
