Network Printer prints blank sheet as last page
Hello:
I'm running Fedora Core 2 (kernel 2.6.10-1.771_FC2).
I have the Fedora computer hooked up to a small network at home.
Also on the network is an HP2600 printer. You can print to this printer from any computer on the network (it has its own network connection).
I can print to this printer just fine from Fedora - I run AbiWord as the word processor.
However, when I print a small document (less than 1 page), the document comes out of the printer, then the printer ejects a blank page.
I put the blank page back in the IN tray of the printer, but this is a pain.
I don't have this problem under Windows 2000.
Any ideas?

Probably a driver issue. Are you using the PostScript drivers for this? (Most network printers handle postscript fine, IIRC).

Thanks for the reply, David.
I'm a newbie, how do I tell if I have "Postscript drivers"?

If you're using cups, you can use your standard printer management tool or go to localhost:631 with a webbrowser.

Well, now I've got it really screwed up.
localhost:631 worked. I went and downloaded a PPD file for my HP2610 printer. I wasn't sure what to do with it, however.
I fiddled around using the printer management tool, and now when I try and print, I get a page single page with something like:
%!PS-Adobe-3.0 %RBINumCopies: xxxxx
And a lot of other meaningless garbage.
Before, my printer worked fine (color and all), except it just had an extra blank page.
Now, it doesn't work at all from Linux. :-(
I'd be happy if it was back the way it was, but I can't remember how I got it that way to begin with.
