Need some advice on hardware requirement for installing fedora 2

Currently I have a pentium 2, 266. Is this a bit old for fedora 2? If I need to upgrade, what model of AMD cpu or Intel would be sufficient?

According to this you need:

Recommended for text-mode: 200 MHz Pentium-class or better

Recommended for graphical: 400 MHz Pentium II or better

I haven't tried it but I think that your Pentium II @ 266 will be fine for graphical if you use a light window manager like Fluxbox or Xfce.

I got FC2 (graphical mode) running on an old Pentium 166 with 160MB Ram

Not the fastest machine ever but it works!

Currently Gnome is the default window manager, haven't tried any others yet.

I need to recompile the kernel to get an Alcatel Speedtouch modem working...it'll probably take about 1 month
