my nv graphics card too slow for compiz?

Hi all,

I recently installed compiz on my FC6 system, which is a 2 1/2 year old Pentium IV running at 2.4 GHz. The video card is:
Code:
nVidia Corporation NV17 [GeForce4 MX 440-SE]
with 64MB of RAM. I have the livna nvidia driver package installed and am running X at 1280x1024.

When I enabled desktop-effects, it ran rather slowly, with very jerky motions. Is this video hardware just too old?

Also, how do you exit from desktop-effects? I couldn't figure out how to turn it off and ended up rebooting X.

Thanks.

I can't say if your card is too old but maybe it is a memory size issue. I have disabled desktop-effects the same way as enabling it by clicking again "enable desktop effects".
