my dilema

I have a small dilema. I just got a laptop and would like to install linux on it. I have the disks for fedora core 1 and was going to use them until I found out that core 2 was out. It would take me a very long time to download core 2 because nowhere I found has a fast enough connection. Is it worth it to wait until I can download it? or there is a good way I could install core 1 and then update it to 2 without losing the files and programs that I would put on it in the meantime. I am not sure what to do so any help would be cool...

It would be bether to make a clean install of FC2. There's a big differences of the packages. An upgrade from FC1 to FC2 will work, but you will encounter problems.
It would be worth to wait till your download is complete and install FC2. Try to use BitTorrent, maybe you can download it faster.

I say, just use the Core 1 CDs you have. Core 2 was rather rough upon release, anyway.
