wow-you should get wget...it's a download manager with a pick up where you left off (-c) switch.
yum install wget
However, if you already have the firefox-3.0.11.tar.bz2 file on your system then skip this. Also, do everything in the terminal (except yum updates) as your user-this way firefox shouldn't bring down your pc.
[s]Where would you suggest I place the file though.
[Rodney@rodney ~]$ bunzip2 firefox-3.0.11.tar.bz2
bunzip2: Can't open input file firefox-3.0.11.tar.bz2: No such file or directory
I've tried just my desktop, and also the download file, as well as my home directory.[/s]
[Edit]I figured I should try the wget route and see if that works better for me.
[edit2]And thus I discover Strikethrough tags do not operate on this forum.
[edit 3] An I wind up back at square one with the firefox-3.0.11.tar.bz2 not being a file or directory...

UPDATE: My computer just froze up again when I was logged into my bank. Not the place where I want that to happen.
ok, RodneyPhoenix-do this:
su
[password|
updatedb
locate firefox-3.0.11.tar*
if it's on your computer it will show you where...if not then you'll need to download it again (try yum install wget as root and then exit to a regular user and cd ~ before you use it). If it's on your pc then do this:
exit
now your a regular user
mv [file location given above]/firefox-3.0.11.tar.bz2 ~
cd ~
bunzip2 firefox-3.0.11.tar.bz2
tar -xvf firefox-3.0.11.tar
cd firefox
./firefox

ok, I now have a shortcut pointing to firefox-3.0.11 but there are no plugins. It seems to be looking in ~/.mozilla and getting my bookmarks as well as my addons. Can I get it to use all the plugins (java and flash) that are on my pc?
