MP3 using Up2date
I'm trying to use this guid http://home.gagme.com/greg/linux/fc2-tips.php to enable mp3 support on my machine. Whenever I run the up2date command to install the mp3 plugin, I'm told that the package doesn't have a GPG signature. In the part of the guide in which you are to add support for the repositories, I don't understand what is meant by "You'll need to add the second line to include the fedora.us repository as the they work together hand in hand".
Thanks for any help |
Up2date sucks with fedora in my opinion. Install the RPM file for mp3s to work http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/1/i386/R...n.2.1.i386.rpm
It is a heck of a lot easier and works great. I would stick to apt-get and synaptic for updating your machine. |
Ok.
I'm very new to Linux. Can you tell me how I would install the RPM, i.e. what "suffix" to use after rpm. |
installing --->#rpm -ivh name.rpm
updating ---->#rpm -uvh name.rpm deleting ----> #rpm -ev name checking for an installed rpm --->rpm -iq name |
