newbie to linux and fedora. how do i go about getting audacious (wouldn't let me install fedora extras during installation) and d/ling the necessary items for mp3 playback? thanks in advance.
@pusrob - i don't know where to find the libmad package or where to see if it has been installed. what would the command be to find/install it?
@brian1 - thanks for that site. i'll be reading it quite often. even though it's for fedora5, would those commands still be good for fedora6 (the distro i'm using)?
i finally got it to work with audacious. i went to this site http://www.fedorafaq.org/#mp3 and found what i was looking for. thank you guys very much for your time and advice! i really appreciate it =) hopefully, i won't have much questions later on.

You have to install the full XMMS in Fedora. The Fedora rpm package leaves the MP3 support out. Or install the rpm package for mp3 for XMMS. The web site I listed will mention that. You can use the website for most of the info. Just have to changes the repos listed for your distro.
