nadroj 04-15-2007 11:19 PM

what are the codecs and players you downloaded?
what player are you using?
does the file play just you dont hear sound?
do you get any error messages?
do you get any useful messages if you run the program from command line?

amarok some media could not be loaded
audacity not compiles with mp3 support
banshee you do not have a decoder installed at this time
installed xxmms non free plugin

nadroj 04-15-2007 11:34 PM

how did you install the codecs?
what codecs did you install again? 'xxmms non free plugin'?

if you want help give us more detailed (and coherent) information than you have supplied so far.

I think for amarok you need to install amarok-non-free. You can verify the actual name by:

# yum --enablerepo livna list | grep amarok

then

# yum --enablerepo livna install <amarok-nonfree-package>

EDIT: I suspect that the amarok-nonfree is in the livna repo so you will have to have that repo enabled

Did you install gstreamer-plugins-ugly? if not, this command, in a terminal, yum install gstreamer-plugins-ugly, will probably get you going.

You could also enable the freshrpms repo which includes xmms-mp3. Also, be careful mixing the livna repo with anything else. It won't play nice with other repos.
