Moving old setting of Thunderbird and Firefox into a new setup of Fedora 20 KDE.


Thunderbird: In new setup of thunderbird Send contents of the Mail folder to Trash Can.

Thunderbird: Take contents of Old Thunderbird Mail folder , Copy and Drag into the new Mail Folder.

Also move Abook from Old to New setup.

Is this correct ?


Firefox: Send places.sqlite in new Setup to Trash Can, Copy From old Firefox the places.sqlite and Drag into New
Firefox Setup. For the Bookmarks.

Well none of that is working in the New User Setup of Fedora 20 / KDE

The way in which I maintain my settings for Thunderbird and Firefox is to leave all the files in the .mozilla/firefox directory and the .thunderbird directory in place in /home/user when I install the new versions. This keeps my old configurations.

I would second tomwest's experience. This is exactly what I did in a move from Fedora 17 to fedora 21 - and it seems to work fine.
