Mounting usb hard-drive

When i mount my usb hard-drive, it never mounts as the same device....

fstab file:

/dev/sdb1 /media/IHP-120 vfat pamconsole,exec,noauto...
/dev/sdc1 /media/IHP-1201 vfat pamconsole,exec,noauto...
/dev/sdd1 /media/IHP-1202 vfat pamconsole,exec,noauto...

how can i fix this? Thanks.

Are you sure it's being unmounted correctly? Usually if the device is not correctly unmounted, your system will hold the device as still being open. Therefore, if it was originally /dev/sdb1, but was then not correctly unmounted, the next time it's connected it will automatically assign it to the next available device - /dev/sdc1, and so on. That's my basic understanding of it anyways!

Ya that's probly it. I probly just unplugged it and didn't unmount. That explains it, thanks a lot.
