Mounting problems with Fedora Core 3

I'm a linux n00b i recently installed fedora core 3 but i can't mount my floppy, cd, dvd, or ntfs sata drive. When i try to mount my floppy/cd/dvd i get this: "input/output error:failed to read superblock." Is there a solution to this superblock error? Thanks.
