I am getting really fond of my Linux system and have been learning a lot. However, a minor problem has crept up. Every once in a while my monitor will shut off and come back on. What could be causing this? I am using a ProView model # 568 flat monitor. It is set at 1024 x 768 and the refresh rate is 75.
Is this like a on/off sequence. I mean, does it come back on as soon as the screen goes black? Or is this like the Shut-off-monitor and you have to move mouse or press a key to turn the monitor back on?
Well then it seems like you have Shutdown Monitor after X minutes enabled. To disable this go to Preferences->Screen Saver.
Under the Advanced tab, you will see the Power Management option. Change shutdown monitor option to Never.
