modules configuration file
 

What are the "alias x y" in /etc/modprobe.conf? If i want to load a module for a device i have to add a line with "alias devicename modulename"?
In Debian i added the eth1394 (ethernet over firewire), by "modprobe 1394". In Fedora i cannot do the same.
