Sorry I didn't get this ready during the season but it proved to be a lot trickier than any of the other windows (mostly the navigation.) However, if you want to go back and watch high scoring games during the off-season, this is a good way to find them. Or if you want a preview of what next season's schedule looks like for your team, this is your view.
Calendar View!
- View a whole month of scores or schedule by team
- Navigate to a game and play media from that game
Things you need to know:
- The default keybinding for calendar view is 'C'.
- Default team is 'ana' (LA Angels) unless you have a favorite= team defined in config.
- To change to another team, press the 'C' key again
- Up/Down arrows scroll through the games
- Left/Right changes months.
EDIT: Most views (listings, master scoreboard, box, line) and media actions including innings should work now. Jump from calendar is still not supported yet but coming soon.
EDIT: Jump to date from calendar now implemented.
Also happening over the off-season, I will be updating the Wiki section in Sourceforge.
2013-sf-8: Sourceforge Release 8 uploaded and ready for download
Sourceforge release 8 contains a lot of bug fixes plus Calendar view and mlbclassics.py.
For SVN users, this is revision 572. A simple "svn up" is all that is needed to get this update.
A lot of work was put into getting all the other features to work with Calendar view including Jump to date, Jump to Inning, Highlights, Condensed games, Gameday Audio and Video, Condensed Games, Highlights, Box score, Line score, and synchronization with listings and master scoreboard views. In the process, I ended up fixing a lot of other bugs. So it's a good idea to svn up to this version anyway.
SVN revision 574: Added year key to mlbstats and published date to mlbclassics
Call it off-season boredom, but I am still at it...
- mlbclassics now has the upload date in the status bar for video entries.
Planned future enhancement is an option to sort the video lists with most recent videos first.
- mlbstats can now bring up the batting and pitching leaders for any year with the 'y' key binding. Now you can see single season leaders from any year MLB has records for. Want to see who led the league in SO in 1964, now you can. You can also look up team stats for a given year as well. Select the year first, then the team. Then switch between batting and pitching and change your sort orders as you please.
There seems to be quite a lot of boredom... ;-)
But: Thanks a lot again for your work! We all just benefit from it. Very great...!! :-)
And now my concern:
I lost conection to the project. Or may be I never really had it. What are all the functions of mlbviewer? Or more simply said: What is all the stuff I can do with it?

Greetings from Germany! :-)
In the offseason? Not much. Okay, that's not true.
With mlbviewer, if you are an MLB.TV subscriber, you should be able to access all the archives including the postseason. There is a new Calendar view (capital C key stroke) that will let you move through the listings a month at a time. It defaults to your favorite= team. If you don't have one defined, it will default to the Angels (first in the list.) You can press C again to change teams. You can also use master scoreboard view ('m') to see all games on a day with their results. You can jump to specific days with the 'j' key. You can see line scores ('b') and box scores ('x'). Probably less useful now is standings ('g'). From line scores (really from just about anywhere), you can pick a half inning that looks interesting and use the 'i' key to start a broadcast from that half inning. You can also watch condensed games ('c') and highlights ('t') for a particular game. Finally, all of these should be in the Help screen ('h')
With the other utilities...
mlbvideos.py - Probably not all that interesting in the offseason, but it will let you directly watch most of the video content on MLB.com that's not game related such as Top 5 Plays of the Day, Edward Jones Chatting Cage, etc. I should check to see if there are off-season video channels of interest such as awards and "Hot Stove".
mlbstats.py - Pretty awesome stat utility. Use the Help ('h') to learn the keys. There is something close to half a dozen (or more) flags used in a statistics URL to filter and modify the view. By changing these flags, you can come up with some pretty novel views like who led the 1929 Yankees in 2B or who is the all-time Braves SV leader or just about any view you would need.
mlbclassics.py - MLB.com used to have an MLB Classic Games archive on their site. Within the last couple of years, they have been moving that content to YouTube. mlbclassics.py finds that content based on several well-known YouTube user accounts and allows you to watch this classic content directly from YouTube without having to rely on a web browser.
There are other utilities and features like mlbplay/milbplay and MiLB.TV integration. I have been working on populating the Wiki pages on SourceForge so I don't have really long README files and extra README's for the other tools. Let me know if you have more questions on what mlbviewer (or its related tools) can do and I'll try to get the answer into the Wiki pages.

Are you sure this is the correct thread? Because the repository URL you posted has nothing whatsoever to do with mlbviewer, as far as I know...
Okay, just the Dbacks with the Dodgers opening camp on the 9th. But still, I'm very excited.
I have checked in some bug fixes (r582.) I recommend updating to this version before the Spring training games start. It handles a few crashes related to Spring Training (e.g. when all the listings files are not on MLB servers yet.)
In other news, I am exploring a live CD version of mlbviewer based on Debian Linux. You'll be able to download it and burn it to a DVD or USB drive and boot to a live Debian image with all the software preinstalled. There are three motivations for this: 1) allow those who may not be as familiar or comfortable with CLI and installing the pre-requisites to boot up to mlbviewer without having to install anything on their computer, 2) create a portable way to bring mlbviewer to foreign computers (anyone else visit family who doesn't want them installing software on their machine?), and 3) run mlbviewer as a virtual machine when you cannot boot directly into the Live CD (I do this at work a lot.)
If anyone is good at graphic design (or just wants to help me find public domain art), I would like icons, boot splash, XFCE splash, and desktop art that won't violate any MLB copyrights. I already have some placeholder art but I wouldn't mind kicking it up a notch. I should have a first look copy posted somewhere (not sure if it will be sourceforge or somewhere else) in March or April.
This is also a good time of the year for feature requests or nagging bug fix requests.
I've been reminded of mlbviewer's greatness while trying to navigate the BBC's Olympic website before giving up and using the mlbviewer-esque get_iplayer. Can't wait for another great season of baseball!
On that subject though, I am a Cubs fan, so I'm not sure how great the majors are going to be for me during this particular season... Can someone remind me what the status of mlbviewer is for minor league games? My recollection was that it was not fully supported due to MiLB's unstable listings pages, but hackable if one can find a pid or some such for the desired game?
I'm sure there's a post in here somewhere with details, but if anybody can point me to the most up-to-date info I'd appreciate it.
EDIT: Annd then I bother to even read the page this post is on and discover there's an excellent and up-to-date wiki page at http://sourceforge.net/p/mlbviewer/wiki/MiLB.tv/. So thanks once again to daftcat for answering my question before I knew I had it! I'll start there and post back if I run into any trouble...
I've had those moments and I wrote this code. Every postseason, I have this postseason= option that I seem to need one of you to remind me what it's there for.
As for MiLB.tv support, I am a bit surprised with how that all integrated. I didn't even realize until I read the wiki that line and box scores work with MiLB. I can probably get standings support working for MiLB but master scoreboard (and maybe calendar) probably won't get done for MiLB. But I never say never...
New 2014 MLB.TV Media Player: MLB.com will be launching a new high definition MLB.TV Media Player this season (beta version will be available in or around March). The new web-based Media Player will have a responsive, in-page layout with simplified controls and game-event milestone markers. Subscribers with optimal bandwidth will have access to live HD video without the previously-required NexDef software download.
This is a good time to mention my usual Spring Training disclaimer.
Whatever changes MLBAM has planned for 2014, they won't roll them out til late March.
I expect very little changes to support Spring Training games.
However, once the new offering is rolled out, it may take a few weeks to stabilize. Some of this will be me having to reverse engineer the changes from Developer Tools in Firefox and Wireshark traces. Others will be stability issues on MLBAM's side.
Basically, be patient. Things usually settle down by late April.
