Minor video troubles...

Hey everyone,

Just a quick question here, why is it that I am getting this message when trying to play games?

[mike@micmill mike]$ armyops
Xlib: extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0".
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
GL_EXT_bgra not supported - bailing out.

History:

Exiting due to error

I have installed the closed source Nvidia drivers and did the cc-thingy, but I am still getting an error.

Thanks
Mike

what do you mean cc-thingy, as in the gcc used to compile your running kernel is different from the gcc that is currently installed? if that is the case, this could be your problem, you might want to try recompiling your kernel with the same gcc

also check your XF86Config and that you are not loading and DRI modules as nvidia driver doesn't use these.

I did this "export CC=gcc32" before I installed the drivers.

I've read this elsewhere:
Code:
Errr, first of all, Nvidia is not DRI, there is no DRI driver for Nvidia...

The last section of your XF86Config file, just remove it and it will work...

Remove these two lines:

Section "DRI"
Mode 0666
maybe this will help?

Looks like you didn't remove the Mesa-libGL...
