Minimize problem

Everytime I minimize a program in fedora the app disapears! It just....goes away into la la land! WHY?? The process is still running, but for the life of me I can't find it.....It simply does not go to the task bar....why? and where exacly does it go?? Someone please help me before I pass eturnal judgment on Fedora and just use Red Hatt 9 forever...Thanks for your time

1. Check window list applet is on your panel.
2. Try to use keyboard shot-cut switching programs such as Alt + Tab.
