Microphone doesn't work in FC9

Fedora 9 i386 .

Can't get Mic to work, Sound is working GREAT on laptop.
The settings in Kmix for Mics are OK, Pulseaudio settings are 100% and set at 'default'.
I can connect a working set of headset/microphone, I know they work in another Laptop, but can't get mics to record..

The thing most people miss is making sure the capture switch is on under the input tab. If so and the headset works on another computer I would look known problems with the make and model of laptop.
