/media/cdrecorder ???

Is there any reason FC3 made this the mount point? Ive already run into problems with the CDROM permissions upon install. The eject command looks for /cdrom but its not mounted there. Im pretty much a noob, and Im wondering what trouble this will give me in the future or how to change the automount to /cdrom.

check /etc/fstab file. u can change the mount point of cdrom there.

u can create a sym link as cdrom if doesnt exist. so programs which search /dev/cdrom, will be able to work.
#ln -s /dev/hdX /dev/cdrom

/dev/hdX is the where cd-rom/cdrw/dvd attached. such as /dev/hdc, /dev/hdd
hda: IDE fist channel master device
hdb: IDE fist channel slave device
hdc: IDE second channel master device
hdd: IDE second channel slave device

good luck.

isnt there a problem with "ls -n /dev/hdc /cdrom" ?
i think it must be "ln -s /dev/hdc /dev/cdrom".

if it works, never mind

good luck
