Making FC3 Live CD

I am trying to make a live CD for FC3 using the procedure shown in the following page:
http://www.linux-live.org
it needs squashFS tools but I could not find any package for kernel 2.6.11-1.27_FC3. Does any body know where to get it? The one refered to in the page is up to kernel 2.6.9 so It did not install on my system.

You may want a look at the following discussion too ...
http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=93

... and about squashFS, see the developer:
http://squashfs.sourceforge.net/
... which I see you've done. basically, if the developer dosn't have anything more recent that 2.1-r2 then I don't see how anybody else could. Here's an intreguing note: http://www.kerneltraffic.org/kernel-...50103_290.html
(You'll have to look well down this page to find squash reference.)

BTW: Some freindly words...

Could you edit your profile to show your distro and some idea of location - it honestly helps

Your subject line is misleading: you don't want to know about making a FC3 live CD, you want to know about "where to find "squashFS" for the 2.6.11 kernel". So that should have been your subject line perhaps?

Can you imagine how annoying it is to see a subject line, do a quick check to make sure you know what you're talking about, then discover that the poster is asking a completely different question?

Thanks very much for helpfull reply. I am going to check that post.

Thank you also for the freindly words and would like to offer the following:

- I am a linux user. I use all Linux distros that I was able to put my hands on. You can check all forums and you will see that I hve posts on almost all of them. Therefore, i do not know which distro I should put there, I love them all.

- I am sorry for bothering you with the subject. But, I really meant the subject. I mean, I need to know how to make the live CD not the unionFS, but I mentioned the unionFS because it is the thing preventing me from doing my live CD. So, I also wanted any other person that tried a different way of making a live CD from Fedora Core 3 without the need for unionFS to tell me how.

Thanks alot and sorry again.

Great: You could check out these guys ...
http://www.linuxcompatible.org/story30628.html

they have made a live CD from fedora 2 - and the site tells what they did. Presumably you've researched the other live distros and seen how they all did it?

Personally I don't think a live CD of fedora would do it justice, you just can't stick that much on one CD. But I've been wrong before (many many times ...)

I saw your other posts, which is why the words were freindly and soft

Distro - stick them all in, at least all the ones you are running right now and a few you are very experienced in. That's what the others do. Nobody minds a huge great list.

Subject: I hear you It is too easy to start wanting to talk about one thing and then end up talking about something else.
