Making a boot disk for F7

Alrihgt guys, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to linux, in the past I've meddled with it, but I've got a linux class coming up and I was looking around for a distro to mess with so I can go ahead and learn some stuff. I picked Fedora 7... the install went fine, but I don't feel comfortable using grub as my bootloader(bad experience in the past)... but I remember being able to make a boot disk in the past.

I booted off the CD with the "System Recovery" option(I think its like the third option? Can't remember the exact name of it), chrooted /mnt/sysimage... but it looks like I don't have mkbootdisk. So I'm pretty much stuck. I also don't have a floppy drive, so I need something I can burn to a CD/DVD for this purpose if possible... or any other possibilities would be great too.

Sorry if its a bit long, and maybe a little cryptic, I just woke up hah. Thanks in advance.

With the 2.6 kernel series making a boot floppy is not really possible. You should have mkbootdisk installed already. There is zero reason to use the installation media to create a boot CD, as root or equivalent type for example;

/sbin/mkbootdisk mkbootdisk --iso --device boot.iso `uname -r`
(note that is the backtick character above the 'Tab' key in the command above)

Then use cdrecord or k3b or whatever to burn the boot.iso file to CD.

If mkbootdisk is not installed then type: yum install mkbootdisk
