Low performance samba shares
A Biostar GeForce 6100-M7 motherboard, AMD Sempron 2800+ 1GB Ram, Western Digital 40GB IDE, eth0 Davicom 10/100 (onboard nVidia nForce card was not recognice by FC4).
The performance is down for samba shares (copy 300 mb in 90seconds) (should be in 30 sec).
I was checking the wire, SATA device is not used and is Disable in BIOS, leave only 528MB Ram, etc. The curious detail is when go to Gnome console and copy a file from a dir to another into same disk, the speed is low too. I see then the disk -not the networking- is the problem(?). I was reading about smbfs, cifs etc but don't make relations.
What do you think?
