Lost up2date on FC3 to FC4 upgrade
I upgraded from FC3 to FC4 a few months back on a test system. Then I set the system aside when the up2date quit working. Now I've got time to pursue this issue. Here's the command line response when I try up2date on FC4:
[root@taurus ~]# up2date Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 11, in ? import rpm ImportError: No module named rpm Hopefully, this is something easy to fix. I'd appreciate any help on this issue. I'd like to continue using FC4, but not without updating capability. Thanks in advance. -Arnie Nelson Retired (from full time work) Unix Systems Admin |
up2date has never been particuly good.
Yum is far superior in every way on an FC system Code:
man yum http://linux.duke.edu/projects/yum/ That'll get you in the right direction :) |
Re: Lost up2date on FC3 to FC4 upgrade
I gave up. There were inumerable problems with python. Any system admin program using python would fail with a python module error. I reinstalled FC4 from scratch and am modifying the new setup to match my needs (as it was under FC3).
