Hi there --
We have a Fedora Core 10 system with SELinux set to Enforcing mode running Samba 3.2.8 on it. The client systems are all Windows XP Professional running the Service Pack 2 add-on.
The clients are able to connect to the Samba shares, but the login window that appears when the connections are made, does not disappear after the initial login. The users are periodically required to re-enter their passwords.
The configuration of the shares in question is shown below:
Code:
path = <pathname>
valid users = <username> <username>
public = yes
writable = yes
printable = no
create mask = 0755
browseable = yes
We have two theories as to why this is occurring:
1. SELinux is set to Enforcing when it should be set to Permissive or Disabled mode.
2. The create mask line in the share shown above should be deleted, and Samba subsequently restarted.
Comments and/or suggestions are welcome.
