Login fedora as a specified user.

I installed fedora14(via Fedora-14-i686-Live-Desktop.iso) on vmware. However, I must log in as a new user when I reboot to my system.

Is there any setup to modify my login as a specified user?

Thanks,

when you want to log on as a specific user, just type his username and password and you'll be fine...
but that propably not the thing you're after, so try to explain your problem a little more detailed?

if you boot from a live cd, then you loose all your settings at every reboot.
You should consider using live usb instead. Not sure vmware supports live usb though.
Or since you're in a vm environment, create a machine with a hard drive, and install Linux on it.

read this for live usb fedora https://fedorahosted.org/liveusb-creator/

Thank you, Brownie and 16pide.

I got following information from http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora :
“Take Fedora for a test drive, and if you like it, you can install Fedora directly to your hard drive straight from the Live Media desktop if you like.”
I can just installed fedora on my vmware for the working convenience.
How can I install Fedora directly to my hard drive straight from the Live Media desktop in the vmware situation?
I did preupgrade and other modifying settings, but lost them every time after reboot. It makes me crazy.

If you need more details, pls tell me more directly.

Thanks,

Thank you all for your kindly attention and help.

I found the easy way to solve this problem.

There is a "Install to Hard Drive" icon on the fedora live system desktop.
Double click it and then next to the end......
Then the fedora 14 vmware can be setup.

How silly I am!

I think this thread should be moved to the "fedora-installation" subforum.
A little suggestion to admin, hoho.
